摘要: We have used antibodies to the basement membrane proteoglycan screen lambda gt11 expression vector libraries and isolated two cDNA clones, termed BPG 5 7, which encode different portions of core protein heparan sulfate proteoglycan. These clones hybridize a single mRNA species approximately 12 kilobases. Amino acid sequences obtained on peptides derived from protease digests were found in deduced sequence, confirming identity these clones. spanned 1986 base pairs has an open reading frame 662 amino acids. The sequence contains cysteine-rich domains internally homologous lacking cysteine. show homology laminin chains. A globule-rod structure, similar that short arms chains, is proposed for this region other clone, 2193 long 731 eight internal repeats with 2 cysteine residues each repeat. neural-cell adhesion molecule N-CAM plasma alpha 1B-glycoprotein.
