摘要: We report parallax measurements by the HIPPARCOS satellite of zeta Puppis and gamma^2 Velorum. The distance Pup is d=429 (+120/ -77) pc, in agreement with commonly adopted value to Vela OB2. However, a significantly smaller found for Vel system: d=258 (+41/-31) pc. total mass derived from its parallax, angular size semi-major axis as measured intensity interferometry, period M(WR+O)=29.5 (+/-15.9) Msun. This result favors orbital solution Pike et al. (1983) over that Moffat (1986). stellar parameters O star companion line blanketed non-LTE atmosphere models are: Teff=34000 (+/-1500) K, log L/Lsun=5.3 (+/-0.15) which an evolutionary M=29 (+/-4) Msun age 4.0 (+0.8/-0.5) Myr obtained single models. With model calculations including He C we derive luminosity L/Lsun~4.7 (+/-0.2) WR star. mass-luminosity relation hydrogen-free stars implies M(WR)~5 (+/-1.5) From our data favor ~10 bulk OB2 stars. Evolutionary scenarios are discussed light results.
