摘要: Abstract Objective leaf extract of A. marina was tested on the growth clinically isolated multi-drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus and its bioactive compounds were attempted. Method Clinical strain aureus, from sputum, pus blood different patients 22 strains screened for antibiotic susceptibility. Avicennia extracted in solvents antibacterial assay carried out using Kirby-Bauer's disk diffusion method. Crude methanol mangrove loaded a silica gel column eluted with chloroform (9:1 to 1:9) followed by ethyl acetate 1:9). Based vitro assay, 12th fraction subjected minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). The active analysed Clarus 500 Perkin Elmer gas chromatography. Result susceptibility test, six (RMSA 6, RMSA12, RMSA16, RMSA18, RMSA19 RMSA21) resistance against methicillin, vancomycin ciprofloxacin. results indicated that methanolic showed highest activity all RMSA 6 (16mm), RMSA12 (15 mm), RMSA16 (13 RMSA18 (10 (17 mm) RMSA21 (16 mm). MIC partially purified potential multidrug however, lowest recorded strain. In GC-MS results, 5 identified marina. Conclusion has more candidate inhibit S. aureus.
