摘要: “Α picture is worth a thousand words.” This widely used adage sums up in few words the notion that successful visual representation of concept should enable easy and rapid absorption large amounts information. Although, general, capturing complex ideas using images very appealing, would 1000 be enough to describe unknown research field such as life sciences? Life sciences one biggest generators enormous datasets, mainly result recent technological advances; their complexity can make these datasets incomprehensible without effective visualization methods. Here we discuss past, present future genomic systems biology visualization. We briefly comment on many analysis tools purposes they serve. focus latest libraries programming languages more effective, efficient faster approaches for visualizing biological concepts, also human-computer interaction trends enhancing further.
