摘要: Anemonefishes and their host sea anemones are iconic inhabitants of coral reef ecosystems. While studies have documented abundance in shallow-water habitats parts the Indo-Pacific, none examined these species on mesophotic reefs. In this study, we used autonomous underwater vehicle imagery to examine diversity anemonefishes at Viper Reef Hydrographers Passage central Great Barrier depths between 50 65 m. A total 37 (31 Entacmaea quadricolor 6 Heteractis crispa) 24 (23 Amphiprion akindynos 1 A. perideraion) were observed. Densities highest Reef, with 8.48 E. per 100 m2 substratum. These results support hypothesis that reefs many common taxa may occur greater than currently recognised.
