Audit on management of seizures in six Swedish hospitals

摘要: Six Swedish hospitals (four university and two regional hospitals) participated in a pan-European quality assurance project regarding acute management of seizures. Three hundred consecutive emergency department (ED) visits for unprovoked epileptic seizure were assessed (50 per participating hospital). Patients generally seen by physician timely manner the medical care was good. Eyewitness statements sought 72% after first seizure. There is room improvement documentation exposure to alcohol or illicit drugs information about driving motor vehicles, which only documented minority cases. Only 56% patients with known epilepsy had neurologist year before their ED visit, indicating shortcomings provision care.
