Variable and Embedded Stars in the Galactic Center

摘要: We report results of a time series analysis high-resolution K-band imaging, photometry, and polari- metry stars in the Galactic center cluster covering 7 consecutive years. In our statistical sample with about half show indication variability consistent most them being long- m K \ 13, period variable, asymptotic giant branch stars. Some long-period variables already proposed liter- ature are con—rmed. They identi—ed For —rst we that bright He I source IRS 16SW is short-period variable D9.72 days. It likely an eclipsing binary lower mass limit "100 solar masses. This con—rms previous model- ing characteristics near-infrared spectra, which also indicated massive, young hot star. present polarization survey central parsec Galaxy. Stars whose vectors diUer from overall polarization, parallel to plane, mostly situated ii minispiral,ˇˇ region high thermal —ux density at centimeterradio wavelengths. these sources appear extended images have featureless red spectra. interpret objects as may just recently been formed still embedded dust shell.
