摘要: In an effort to detect factors which may be under positive selection, a survey for such genes in two pathogenic strains of Helicobacter pylori (J99 and 26695) was performed. Based on analysis synonymous nonsynonymous substitutions, we identified 19 candidate selection. A search homologues with known crystallographic structures revealed Escherichia coli carbomoyl phosphate synthetase as homologue H. carbamoyl synthetase. Carbamoyl isolated from E. is heterodimeric enzyme that possesses different but coupled functionalities involved the first committed step separate biosynthetic pathways arginine pyrimidine nucleotides. this study, provide evidence indicating one these appears selective pressure. Reports previously published site-directed mutagenesis studies point decoupling amidotransferase activities. Implications findings metabolic selection are discussed terms mechanisms pathogenesis.
