摘要: p l n i a o PURPOSE: To report the short-term outcomes and omplications of iris-fixated posterior chamber intraocuar lenses (PCIOL) in pediatric population. DESIGN: Retrospective, observational case study. METHODS: Twelve consecutive patients (17 yes) underwent placement foldable iris-sutured CIOLs between September 1, 2004 30, 007 by two anterior segment surgeons at single cademic center. Outcome measures included change isual acuity (VA) complications. RESULTS: In our series, there was higher rate islocation IOLs with history f ectopia lentis resulting from Marfan syndrome or ereditary idiopathic causes than being reated for aphakia other (45% vs %). Mean final VA improved 0.23 logarithm inimum angle resolution units preoperative aseline. One eye patient sustained retinal etachment eight months after dislocation PCIOL, nd one experienced iris capture IOL urgery. CONCLUSIONS: Iris-fixated are reasonable alterative to transsclerally sutured correct patient. Dislocation can occur, owever, is concern suture degradation over ime. The procedure should be considered caution ediatric patients. (Am J Ophthalmol 2009;147: 21–126. © 2009 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.)
