摘要: Abstract This study examines the relative contribution of extreme daily precipitation events (RR > 99th percentile) to accumulated rainfall over Arabian Peninsula in current and future climates. Both gridded observations model simulation data are analyzed. Observations reveal that contribute nearly 40% (70%) amount wet (dry) regions for period 1970–1999. The regional climate simulations show a large overestimation annual mean present climate. However, also depicts almost an enhanced Peninsula. In agreement with observations, simulated small (large) total regions. increases southern central parts case We found increase associated when compared reference period. indicates likely become more intense future. results indicate intensities presented this highlight better understanding their distribution currently is essential judicious socio-economic planning region.
