摘要: High mechanical strength is one of the superior properties metallic glasses which render them promising as a structural material. However, understanding process deformation in strongly disordered matter, such glass, exceedingly difficult because even an effort to describe structure qualitatively hampered by absence crystalline periodicity. In spite challenges, we demonstrate that high-energy synchrotron X-ray diffraction measurement under stress, using two-dimensional detector coupled with anisotropic pair-density function (PDF) analysis, has greatly facilitated unraveling complex atomic rearrangements involved elastic, anelastic, and plastic glasses.
