摘要: To ascertain the generality of a sex difference noted in odor identification ability, University Pennsylvania Smell Identification Test (UPSIT) was administered to four groups subjects: Black Americans (n = 438), White 1559), Korean 106), and Native Japanese 308). The women all outperformed men same relative degree. American group performed better than groups, which, turn, Japanese. Analyses proportions subjects correctly answering each test items revealed considerable similarity item difficulty among subject groups. Taken together, these data suggest that differences ability are probably not due ethnic or cultural factors, per se.
