This unprecedented insight new theories on mechanisms ischemic damage, suggested targets strategies for therapeutic intervention designed reduce clinical consequences stroke. Among current developments, three seem particularly appealing—namely, limitation initial or secondary inhibition apoptotic mechanisms, enhancement endogenous capacity nervous structures restore lost function, replacement cells transplantation therapy.
