摘要: Abstract A general circulation model has been run in the perpetual January mode to produce several long-term simulations, each distinguished by a different imposed equatorial Pacific sea surface temperature. From of them simulations we have extracted an eight-member ensemble 90-day averaged fields. Ensemble-mean difference maps are presented this paper, together with estimate statistical significance features which appear thee maps. These results compared observational studies literature that present Northern Hemisphere winter fields composited according some index related two extremes sea-surface temperature variation. The show many anomaly patterns high also good agreement those observed. In tropics, include 990 mb wind, level pressure and rainfall anomalies constituting Southern Oscillation, as well 200 height at all longitud...
