摘要: This experiment studied the effect of phone conversations and other potential interference on reaction time (RT) in a braking response. Using laboratory station which simulated foot activity driving, 22 research participants were requested to release accelerator pedal depress brake as quickly possible following activation red lamp. Mean was determined for five conditions: (a) control, (b) listening radio, (c) conversing with passenger, (d) using hand-held phone, (e) hands-free phone. Results indicated that conversation, whether conducted in-person or via cellular caused RT slow, whereas music radio did not.
