摘要: Abstract A set of glasses with the composition 29.5B2O3+30TeO2+20MF2+20MO +0.5Dy2O3 (where M = Zn2+, Cd2+, Sr2+, Ba2+ and Pb2+) has been synthesized using a melt quenching technique. The physical structural properties have calculated to find out ability withstand radiation. optical such as band gap Urbach energies estimated were determined possess minimum defects. MCNP-5 code was applied evaluate photon shielding capability glasses. highest mass attenuation parameter sample, 29.5B2O3+30TeO2+20PbF2+20PbO (coded BTD-Pb) varied between 0.202 0.040 cm2/g. In addition, mean free path (MFP) for prepared observed that BTD-Pb glass had lowest MFP, varying 0.891 4.466 cm. Based on radiation parameters, sample best against gamma rays.
