摘要: This paper describes a major and previously unrecognized reversal in the arctic-to-tropics gradient avian species diversity within habitat types. The latitudinal zone which occurs encompasses eastern deciduous forest of North America. It is bounded by two thresholds that probably represent reversals effect seasonality on community diversity. Within this region strong fosters increased summer diversity, owing to resource oscillations combined with winter limitation consumers. Temporarily superabundant resources relax limits ecological overlap enhance Detailed studies partitioning coniferous forests support conclusion. Historical events linked glaciation northeast have also favored evolution migratory northeastern breeders able exploit northern vernal bloom underutilized residents. "species-packing" characteristics pattern diversificati...
