摘要: We evaluated effects of location (i.e., Jackpot Bay, a naturally contaminated site, and Herring reference site), diet as determined by stable isotopes, age on mercury concentrations in individual river otters (Lontra canadensis) from Prince William Sound, Alaska, USA. also investigated the accumulation survival these two locations. Our results indicated that fishes Bay were significantly higher than those pelagic fishes. In addition, predominant intertidal fish both areas influenced otters. Concentrations fur animals Bay. Nonetheless, we did not detect significant differences between inhabiting areas, suggesting this natural contamination was high enough to impair survival. ability investigate various factors such location, composition, subsequent individuals offers an example for link individual-based captive studies population-level field investigations.
