A test battery consisting standing steadiness, simple complex reaction time, manual dexterity, numerical reasoning, speed verbal fluency used. Placebos for drugs were included. Caffeine administered decaffeinated coffee immediately after finishing drinking the alcoholic beverage. peak plasma concentration 92 +/- 4 mg/100 ml occurred at 40 min which not modified by caffeine. did antagonise ethanol-induced decrement performance except time tests. caused a significant increase body sway min.
