Fatal Canine Leptospirosis on St. Kitts

摘要: Through prospective enrollment of canine patients at the Ross University Veterinary Clinic, on St. Kitts, four cases acute fatal leptospirosis were diagnosed. Clinical, pathological, and diagnostic findings in these are summarized this case series. Icterus, thrombocytopenia, hyperphosphatemia, pulmonary hemorrhage, both hepatocellular renal damage noted all cases. Interestingly, extensive myocardial involvement was also observed one case. To our knowledge, is first documentation myocarditis a dog with leptospirosis, report any animal species Caribbean island Kitts.
