摘要: Publisher Summary The sulfhydryl groups of enzymes possess a high degree reactivity as evidenced by their interaction with wide variety agents. existent reagents exhibit range reactivities that can be utilized either to increase the specificity reaction, or limit it one just few accessible groups. Two reagents, p -mercuribenzoate (PMB) and N -ethylmaleimide (NEM) are readily amenable quantitation. Not only is reaction accompanied an alteration in spectral characteristics but products measured well. PMB proteins reversed adding excess reagent such cysteine glutathione. This allows greater flexibility studying essentiality enzymes. most reactive combine compounds containing activated double bond form stable thiol ethers. NEM has allowed quantitative spectrophotometric determination number reacting. specific for Some disadvantages assay procedure involving relative titration also discussed.
