摘要: Integrative behavioral studies show that the interplay between individual physiology and social behavior influences ecology of species, ultimately affecting fitness. Particularly in lizards, color polymorphism is associated with differential behaviors reproductive strategies, which are evident mature males during mating season. Dominant generally have greater endurance, higher body temperature, larger bodies than submissive males, so they can acquire defend territories access to females for mating. We studied whether morphs observed one world's southernmost reptiles, Liolaemus sarmientoi, related variation agonistic interactions, thermal physiology, morphology, and/or locomotor stamina. sarmientoi exhibit three morphs: red (RR), red-yellow (RY), yellow (YY). These lizards subtle displays we did not observe stamina differences among morphs. However, found RR more aggressive YY encounters. In addition, temperature change trials, field temperatures, head sizes compared RY or indicate a dominant morph, may influence their ability territory tactics achieving success.
