Elastic multiple scattering of surface plasmon polaritons: studies with a near-field optical microscope

摘要: Elastic (in the plane) scattcring of surCace plasmon polaritons is experimentally ami theoretically investigated. Near-field optical images exhibited rather bright round spots that may be directly related to phenomenon strong SPP localization. Numerical simulations carried out havc wcll reproduced overall appcarance oC observed hot spots. A calculated enhancement several orders magnitude larger than average intensity field was found.
