摘要: Variations in benthic biodiversity owing to bottom trawling were studied the inshore waters of Parangipettai (Lat.11°24′N; Long. 79°464′E) and Cuddalore (Lat. 11°434′N; 79°494′E), India from February 2009 January 2010. Four stations each prepared established. A total 114 species 101 found. The population density showed a maximum (10,387 no. m-2) sample collected before minimum (40no. m−2) samples after trawling. Among faunal groups, polychaetes topped list followed by other groups organisms both Shannon diversity varied 2.23 4.24, 1.85 3.45; Margalef richness 3.2 5.9, 2.57 4.25; Pielou’s evenness 0.79 0.94, 0.81 0.88 respectively Parangipettai. In waters, ranged 2.15 3.85, 1.92 3.15; 2.95 5.2, 2.24 3.95 index 0.84 0.91, 0.82 respectively. Multivariate methods also distinct variations terms composition abundance between regions samples.
