摘要: Plants are constantly challenged by a wide array of pathogens, including viruses. For any specific plant species most viruses cannot surmount basal defenses that include physical barriers like waxy layer covering the and post-transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS). However, in those instances when virus is able to infect plant, host survival relies on quick recognition invading rapid signaling defense response. One form resistance termed gene-for-gene type interaction R pathogen-encoded avirulence (Avr) gene. If has protein can recognize pathogen Avr product, will mount response thwart an infection. Therefore, proteins have dual role. Not only must they directly or indirectly, also initiate leads earliest responses hypersensitive (HR), programmed cell death (PCD) occurs at pathogen’s infection site. HR correlated with R-gene-mediated disease containment site (For details, see Chapter A5). Following HR, systemic acquired (SAR) results enhanced further variety pathogens. In this chapter we discuss major advances understanding how different intricacies defense-signaling network SAR.
