摘要: This article reviews the most commonly cited, representative, empirical studies in peer-reviewed literature that directly investigate association of gun availability and homicide victimization. Individual-level (n=4) are reviewed risks benefits owning a personal or household firearm. The research suggests households with firearms at higher risk for homicide, there is no net beneficial effect firearm ownership. No longitudinal cohort study seems to have investigated between home homicide. Two groups ecological reviewed, those comparing multiple countries focused solely on United States. Results from cross-sectional international (n=7) typically show high-income more firearms, both men women particularly Time series (n=10) (n=9) U.S. cities, states, regions States as whole, generally find statistically significant prevalence–homicide association.
