摘要: Forced chemical vapor infiltration (FCVI) methods have been developed to fabricate ceramic composites. The FCVI techniques allow the rapid densification of fibrous preforms with matrices. Computer-based modeling was used develop a multi-step forced process. In particular, finite-volume computer model, GTCVI, specifically for process determine optimal processing schemes. results indicate that in first step, conditions should be tailored uniformly infiltrate fine pores within fiber bundles. Once bundles are filled, changed compensate new transport and surface-to-volume effects associated coarse porosity between layers fabrics. model-derived times 1.3 cm thick preform decreased from 24 hours 11 while maintaining an average final density greater than 85%.
