摘要: Sudden unexplained death in infancy, including sudden infant syndrome (SIDS), is a global public health challenge. Despite campaigns and efforts, SIDS remains the leading cause of postneonatal mortality many developed countries. In this article, we review SIDS, describe nursing's unique professional position addressing problem, explore how principles social justice can inform response. Motivated by ethical moral obligations, profession called to take an active role educating others regarding phenomenon, participate research, develop or advocate for policy that aims reduce incidence on international scale.
