摘要: Abstract Polarization effects in the Li 7 (p, α )He 4 reaction have been sought by initiating with protons polarized elastic scattering from carbon. The left-right asymmetries resultant alpha particles were measured at lab angles of 52° and 120° which are approximately equivalent because requirement that show mirrow symmetry about 90° (c.m.). data two averaged served to minimize possible spurious asymmetries. Spurious also checked substituting platinum for carbon as initial scatterer. Data taken energies ranging 0.99 3.19 MeV. Large polarizations found all energies. These some 43% four highest but apparently dropped off lower use a proton polarimeter is discussed extensively. It concluded such shows considerable promise.
