摘要: Manufacturers increasingly rely on innovation from their suppliers to improve the cost, quality, and timeliness of products. Manufacturing capabilities are enhanced by supplier innovativeness directly, because embedded nature supplied component, indirectly, as manufacturer learns its suppliers. We use organizational learning theory develop a conceptual model factors that act contingencies magnify effect innovativeness. First, we argue manufacturer's absorptive capacity, ability learn external knowledge, positively moderates impact performance. Second, examine how different combinations manufacturer–supplier styles lead relatively more or less interorganizational learning, contingent upon whether outsourcing is design versus manufacturing oriented. Our can help managers consider knowledge transfer part selection criteria.
