摘要: When the democratic government came into power in 1994 South Africa, it faced formidable problems stemming from structural and historical inequalities imbalances created by apartheid. Among challenges included climate change. The release of 2013 Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) report indicates that change is a reality its effects globally are getting worse daily. However, African youth have not been adequately educated about through formal basic schooling so they can act as agents. This article argues curriculum has to include relevant most recent content on children become agents their homes communities. uses analysis National Curriculum Statement (2012) determine relevance currency present curriculum. also makes recommendations how be revised made schools.
