摘要: Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics individuals who participated in first annual Great Texas Birding Classic (Birding Classic) 1997. is modeled after World Series New Jersey. Both events are major birding competitions North America and designed raise money for habitat protection. We examined participants’ motivations participating event, commitments birding, behavioral involvement. Results revealed that participants event comprised a highly skilled, committed, elite group birders. majority minimized competition as motivation event. Instead, they because enjoyed searching birds, being with friends, contributing wildlife conservation. salience assigned both enjoyment conservation suggests like can effectively blend avian protection enjoyment.
