摘要: Abstract Production of milk, solids-not-fat, fat-corrected milk fat, and protein were lower for cows on sainfoin hay than those fed alfalfa in two switch-back trials. Hay grain consumption did not differ receiving the different hays. In a palatability study, 6-mo old heifers preferred to hay. Metabolism studies with mature rams gave digestible coefficients (%) 65, 63.3, 59.2, 31.6, 85.5 dry matter, protein, ether extract, crude fiber, nitrogen free extract portions Digestibilities steers 59.6, 44.9, 67.4, 35.1, 72.9. Average daily gain feed 319 kg full-fed either or 60 days.
