摘要: Purpose This study evaluated the correlation between quantified calcification of carotid siphon and arteriosclerotic changes on angiography as well clinical outcome. We used calcium score obtained from intracranial arteries viewed plain CT. Method/materials examined siphons 72 consecutive patients who had undergone both CT brain. calculated scores siphon. Arteriosclerotic were categorized "smooth," "irregular," or "stenosis." assessed in bifurcation. reviewed records approximately 2 years after examination did not experience cerebral strokes. Results In evaluation angiographic findings siphon, there statistically significant differences "smooth" "irregular", "irregular" "stenosis" "stenosis". bifurcation a difference was only seen No observed groups stroke. Conclusions There positive arteriosclerosis bifurcation, indicating can be predicted using scores. However, degree cannot to predict possibility future
