摘要: Intrinsic rock resistivity, calculated by Archie's Law, has been numerically modeled as a function of space and time for two, two. dimensional crustal environments. The effects variations in poros ity pore-fluid resistivity (with temperature pressure) have . included Law. two environments investi gated are characterized pluton emplacement within the upper 10 km crust. Both models, were from to 2 x 10^ years after emplacement. calcula tions indicate that host-rock distribution is primarily controlled mode dispersion thermal energy away pluton. Comparisons between model results field observations geothermal areas (1) low near-surface cannot be entirely accounted hot circulating saline water, (2) ob servations high gradients associated with anomalies do not assure existence source at shallow depths.
