摘要: The focus of this paper is on three major questions: 1 what the theoretical rationale for strategic group concept?; 2 does membership have performance implications?; and 3 are groups in stable characteristics industries? A statistical procedure proposed to longitudinally identify groups. empirical setting U.S. pharmaceutical industry over period 1963-82. While differences found terms market share, profitability between not observed. Neither risk risk-adjusted performance. These results attributed existence variation within each group. dynamic model competitive repositioning which helps integrate findings from study.
