In addition, 'downstream' into CD4+CD8+ cortical populations followed if expressing CD8 alone were obligatory intermediates. main findings were: (i) support for following within group: HSA++Pgp-1+IL-2R(-)----HSA++Pgp-1-IL-2R(+)----HSA++Pgp-1-IL- 2R-; (ii) majority population due HSA++IL-2R-Pgp-1- subpopulation; (iii) rate output proposed intermediate CD3-CD4-CD8+ subpopulation equivalent only 55% its precursor, most mature subpopulation, suggesting that many double negatives differentiate directly (or via CD3-CD4+CD8- intermediates) positives; (iv) CD4-CD8-HSA- (and CD3+) thymic contained very few cycling turned over extremely slowly, indicating these slowly accumulating product are off mainstream T development.
