摘要: Abstract The rate of breakup helium nuclei by particle-induced reactions is computed. It shown that the determined endothermic reaction p+ 4 He→ 3 He+d, becoming effective at kT ≳few MeV; characteristic temperature has a logarithmic dependence on density and available time. computed from experimental data cross section, extrapolating to lower energies near threshold with insertion Coulomb-barrier penetration factors. Coulommb factor for outgoing particles, being essentially an exponential function energy, results in “Gamow peak” and, effectively, shift energy 18 MeV about 24 MeV. Competing are considered, particular, the process He+p+n. found section ( σ ) this can be understood terms 2 former (→ He+d) phase space considerations. magnitude calculated /σ also agrees well data, 2- 3-body factors short-range deuteron wave u d (0). A brief discussion given possibility occurence astrophysical plasmas. phenomenon might seen matter ejected vicinity black holes, example.
