Observations on the use of porous polymers for collecting volatiles from synthetic mixtures reminiscent of fermented ciders

摘要: Conditions for collecting volatile components on Porapak Q and desorbing them gas chromatographic examination have been investigated using a synthetic mixture representing the aroma of cider. Optimum recoveries least errors were obtained piston displacement procedure, 32 mg Porapak, temperature 150°C 20 min desorption ratios vapour to liquid not exceeding 5:1. Tenax GC gave more consistent results than non-polar compounds with boiling points greater that hexyl acetate.
