摘要: The interplay between the spatial dynamics of range expansion and evolutionary processes is receiving considerable attention. Recent theory has demonstrated that mutations occurring towards front a spatially expanding population can sometimes ‘surf’ to high frequency extent. Here, we extend this work consider how fate novel mutation influenced by where when it occurs. Specifically, are interested in establishing origin relative habitat edge influences its dynamics, understanding mediated behaviour individuals at those boundaries. Using coupled-map lattice model, demonstrate survival probability, abundance extent surviving mutants depend on their origin. An effect often observed be quite different both qualitatively quantitatively depending behavioural rules assumed. Mutations, especially deleterious, arise with reflective boundary conditions many more times likely survive for substantial periods time than away from edge. Conversely, absorbing conditions, greater they well Our results clearly illustrate landscape structure, edges have influence occur during period expansion.
