摘要: OBJECTIVES To examine the association of cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption and physical activity with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in older men. SUBJECTS AND METHODS The study included 2797 men participating Third National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III), who were aged ≥ 60 years. During an interview, LUTS, smoking history, assessed. Cases comprised at least three nocturia, hesitancy, weak stream incomplete emptying. Men had prostate surgery unrelated to cancer not as cases. Controls no or surgery. We adjusted for age race logistic regression models used sampling weights account selection probability. RESULTS Current smokers higher odds LUTS than ‘never’ smokers, but former heavy (≥ 50 pack-years) a never (odds ratio 2.01; 95% confidence interval 1.04–3.89). drank daily chance non-drinkers (0.59; 0.37–0.95; P trend, 0.07). All levels moderate vigorous statistically significantly inversely associated (P 0.06), whereas reported leisure-time greater (2.06; 1.26–3.39). CONCLUSIONS Moderate may be protective against LUTS. Current was consistently condition. The possible warrants further investigation.
