摘要: The combination of gasification and solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) has the potential to improve efficiency reduce emissions for fuels, such as coal biomass. Gasification syngas is a mix gases containing contaminants, sulfur tar, which have cause degradation materials used in anode SOFC. In this study, nickelgadolinium-doped ceria (NiCGO) composites are exposed toluene- sulfur- (as CS2) contaminated at temperatures from 600 765 °C investigate effects feed contaminants on their reforming activity amount type carbon deposited. Under conditions favoring deposition, two-stage deactivation observed, with being largely same whether pure or contaminated. Toluene- does not increase deposited make it more difficult remove graphitic compared uncontaminated below 700 °C, but above, produce carbon. Syngas toluene appear compete active sites, suggesting that tars model SOFCs need be investigated under rather than hydrogen. Sulfur contamination reduces deposition above 11 ppm H2S.
