摘要: Abstract In this study, economical use of high strength steel in welded beams is considered. The purpose to compare the performance steels grades S500 and S700 with reference grade S355, when employed simply supported, geometrically double-symmetric I-beams under uniform transverse loading. are optimized separately for weight cost design rules Eurocode 3. Bending shear resistances considered, but lateral torsional buckling neglected. Hybrid beams, where flanges web may be different grades, also treated. cross-section can belong any four classes Eurocode, which means that both plastic elastic function takes into account fabrication, transportation erecting beam on site. results indicate while significant reduction obtained by steels, rather limited savings achieved compared S355. On other hand, hybrid cross-sections display promising potential as most solution.
