摘要: Several factors have contributed to the growth of BIM usage in global construction industry, including availability appropriate software and hardware tools, opportunity minimize errors, waste & cost increasingly competitive markets [1][2]. An emerging approach industry is use 5D-BIM, by combining traditional three dimensions a with schedule as fourth dimension estimate fifth [3]. This allows contractors better predict project, time-line project when these expenses are anticipated occur, while simultaneously allowing be optimized considering quantities materials derived from model productivity rate crews. On one hand 5D-BIM methods provide an excellent connect processes design, methods; on other they call for significant shift way companies operate. It unrealistic commit extensive resources large company, towards re-alignment their internal processes, continuing profitable. paper considers how company United States adopted methods, challenges faced implementing it within lessons learned process. A case-study method was used effort understand paradigm adopting 5D-BIM. Interviews key personnel were conducted content analysis data performed describe results. The results this study show intricacies technology driven population experts not-so erstwhile philosophy success industry. captains communicated great appreciation concepts but unwilling delve into whole-heartedly. reasons attitude, reluctance change some, motivation demonstrate immediate profitability lack demand such endeavours owner/designer community. However there also that quickly adapted 5D thinking about keen proceed using methodology future projects. advantages problems encountered analysed section paper.
