摘要: The spatial representation of a visual scene in the early system is well known. optics eye map three-dimensional environment onto two-dimensional images on retina. These retinotopic representations are preserved system. Retinotopic and processing among most prevalent concepts neuroscience. However, it has long been known that stimulus neither sufficient nor necessary for perception. Saccadic Stimulus Presentation Paradigm Ternus-Pikler displays have used to investigate non-retinotopic processes with without movements, respectively. these paradigms eliminates layout stimulus. Here, we investigated how features processed absence presence conflict. We anorthoscopic viewing (slit viewing) pitted feature-processing hypothesis against hypothesis. Our results support predictions demonstrate ability operate non-retinotopically at fine feature level layout. suggest perceptual space actively constructed from dimension motion. implications findings normal ecological conditions discussed.
