Prognostic value of abdominal CT scanning and hepatic histopathology in patients with acute liver failure.

摘要: Acute liver failure has extremely high mortality without transplantation. We attempted to determine the value of abdominal CT scanning and biopsy in its management. A retrospective analysis patients with acute was performed; demographic, clinical, radiologic histopathologic features were noted. Over a period 13 years, 177 evaluated. The mean age 39 years 63% females. divided into three groups. Fourteen percent survived medical management (group I), 37% died II), 49% had transplantation III).
