Acetylenic cyclophanes: emerging carbon-rich compounds for molecular construction and practical applications

摘要: Abstract The preparation of simple acetylenic [2.2]parcyclophane ‘building blocks’ is described. These compounds are readily available from the commercially [2.2]paracyclophane employing functionalization parent system and conversion resulting functional groups into triple bonds. For incorporation these structures cyclophanes with ‘extended’ π-systems, coupling reactions such as Sonogashira or Glaser particularly valuable. Besides addition ethynyl can be employed to prepare novel iron, platinum, cobalt metal complexes. By polycondensation monomeric converted polymers displaying lateral π-conjugation. application alkynylcyclophanes in material science nanochemistry discussed.
