Towards common European health policies: what are the implications for the Nordic countries?

摘要: Health care is an area that remains formally outside the competence of EU. Despite this, union’s influence on national health policies has increased substantially over past decade. In a series rulings, European Court Justice (ECJ) established de facto system patient rights, which, under certain conditions, entitle citizens to receive in other member states at expense social insurance their home country. This undermines autonomy health, key sector welfare systems. 2008, Commission proposed new directive patients’ rights which builds directly ECJ thus consolidating politically legal precedent set by Court. The rulings have also spurred initiation so-called OMC process care, whereby commit themselves policy harmonization voluntary basis. this paper, we review contents emerging EU and discuss implications for Nordic A central question whether any coherent, common may be discerned and, if so, how it will affect systems type, are tax-based universalistic orientation?
