摘要: It is believed by many that parasites are only as important the fish they infect. Parasites ubiquitous, primarily surviving in a dynamic equilibrium with their host(s) and often overlooked health assessments. Changes environment, both anthropogenic environmental, can alter parasite/host cause disease or mortality fish. Therefore it imperative we have knowledge of parasitic communities within given population. When kills occur, be associated changes parasite density community composition. Often damage these relative to rate infestation parasite; lightly infected will show few signs parasite, while heavily may become physiologically impaired even die. mechanical (fusion gill lamellae, tissue replacement), physiological (cell proliferation, immunomodulation, detrimental behavioral responses, altered growth) reproductive damage. As parasitism most common lifestyle on planet, understanding its role environment help researchers understand population stream ecosystem.
