Vaccination and deworming of foals: Owners’ perspective

摘要: Foals are susceptible to many infectious diseases and they should be treated protected differently compared adult horses. Objectives of this study were investigate vaccination deworming practices foal owners in Finland. The questionnaire was executed. Foal (n = 236) gave a response 217 them told that vaccinate their foals against equine influenza tetanus (combination vaccine) (88 %) herpes (12 %), but not rabies (1,8 %). About 8 % did vaccinated at all risk being non-vaccinated regionally distributed (p<0,05). Among (99,2 preferred over (92 dewormed by taking regular fecal samples first (76%), also routine treatments without favored (22 Differences between horse population general (horses ages) need take seriously when conclusions drawn.
